Southtown Jewish Funerals was established as a part of Central Chapel in 2010, to assist the Jewish community particularly on the South side of Chicago and the South suburbs. It has been 32 years since a Jewish funeral firm existed on the South side of Chicago.  We specialize in Temple and Graveside services, though we have our own chapel near Midway Airport, as well as chapel facilities avialable in the south subrubs.

Southtown Jewish Funerals is owned by Robert J. Moynihan of Chicago. Bob Moynihan was the longtime Managing Partner of Hirsch/Lain-Sullivan Chapels and has a long record of service to the Jewish community in the Southern suburbs.

Disgusted at the exorbitant costs by corporate owned firms, appalled at the lack of competence  around Jewish customs among various Gentile firms, and believing the Jewish community was being inconvenienced by traveling too far for distinctive, affordable funeral care, Bob Moynihan established Southtown Jewish Funerals.
